From 22 June to 29 June, two learners and two field assistants from SIAH participated in an exchange program with Forma’terra St Paul, an agricultural school in Saint Paul, Réunion. This exchange visit was part of the ongoing exchange program between REAP and SIAH, established under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in 2016. The main goal of the exchange program was for SIAH learners and staff to explore and learn about best practices in agricultural development in Reunion. During their visit, they had the opportunity to tour various agrarian facilities, including the Centre de Coopération Internationale en Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement, the Research Institute in St-Pierre, Lycée Agricole de Saint Joseph, and La Coccinelle. Both staff and learners reported that the exchange was very beneficial, enhancing their knowledge and providing new ideas and methods suitable for implementation at SIAH.
